Lieutenant Archibald James Somerville was a British-Chilean officer of the British Army who died during the Second World War.
He was born on 7 October 1919,[1]in Chile, the son of William Mann and Alexanderine Somerville, of Fundo Edina, Rivadavia. Somerville studied in England, at Watson's College, returning to Chile in 1932 at the conclusion of his education.[1]
Somerville died on 9 June 1944, during the Burma Campaign, while serving with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment).
He is buried in Kohima War Cemetery, India
