Private Bernard C. Cliffe, who served as 'Collins', was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.

He was born the son of tailor's machinist Julius and Rachel Cliffe (née Marks), of Courland and Manchester, respectively. At the time of the 1911 Census, the Cliffe family were residing at 26 Wellington Road, Stockport.

Aged 23, Cliffe died on 3 August 1918,[1] when HMAT Warilda was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UC-49 while transporting wounded personnel to Britain. Cliffe had been serving with the Machine Gun Corps (Infantry), and had formerly belonged to the East Surrey and Border regiments.

He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Hollybrook Memorial.
