Rifleman David Victor Pompei, born Davide Victorio Pompei, was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in 1891, in Cambwell, the son of Italian confectioners Francesco and Addolorata Pompei. At the time of the 1911 census, Pompei was working as a hairdresser.
Pompei died on 20 September 1917, during the Third Battle of Ypres, while serving with the 21st (Service) Battalion (Yeoman Rifles), The King's Royal Rifle Corps.
He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Tyne Cot Memorial.
