Ordinary Seaman Douglas William Lord was a South African sailor of the South African Naval Forces who died during the Second World War.
He was born the son of H.V. and Maggie Lord, of Durban, Natal.
Aged 19, Lord died on 24 October 1942, of wounds sustained the day before, when the German U-boat U-161 torpedoed the light cruiser HMS Phoebe off West Africa.
Lord is buried in Pointe Noire European Cemetery, Congo
