Rifleman Edgar Daniel Schaeffer was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in 1890, in Edmonton, the son of German-born merchant Johann Friedrich and Alice Antonie Schaeffer (née Rauch), of London.
Schaeffer died on 13 May 1915, on the Western Front, while serving with "B" Company, of the 1/5th (City of London) Battalion (London Rifle Brigade), The London Regiment.
He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Menin Gate Memorial.
