Second Lieutenant Edgar Adolph Joseph Sternberg was an English officer of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in 1890, in Chorlton, the son of German-born parents Siegfried, a shipping merchant, and Louise Sternberg. He attended Charterhouse School.
Sternberg died on 16 October 1916, on the Western Front, while serving with the 11th Battalion, The King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment), attached from the 2nd Battalion. He had previously served in the Galipoli Campaign. His younger brother, Rupert Oswald, a second lieutenant in the Royal Field Artillery, had died just three months before, in July.
He is buried in Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe.
