Private Edward Heinemann was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in Ashton, in 1895, the son of German-born Ernest, a coach painter, and Elizabeth Heinemann, local to the area. At the time of the 1911 Census, Heinemann was apprenticing to his father while living with his family at 7 Athol Street.
Heinemann died on 7 June 1915, at Helles during the Gallipoli, while serving with the 1/9th Battalion, The Manchester Regiment. His brother, Ernest, died in 1917, on the Western Front, while serving with the 22nd Manchesters.
He is buried in Redoubt Cemetery.
