Private Ernest Steiner was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in 1892, in Holborn, the son of Swiss watch dealer Leon and Norah Steiner (née McCarthy), local to the area. At the time of the 1911 Census, Steiner was working as a watch maker while living with his family at 16 Percival Road, Clerkenwell.
Steiner died on 21 April 1915, on the Western Front, while serving with the 1/6th (City of London) Battalion (Rifles), The London Regiment.
He is buried in Guards Cemetery, Windy Corner, Cuinchy.
