Assistant Cook Francesco Spiteri was a Maltese sailor of the Royal Navy who died during the Second World War.

He was born in Malta, the son of Joseph and Victoria Spiteri.

Aged 27, Spiteri died on 8 June 1940, when the aircraft HMS Glorious was sunk in battle with the German battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, off Norway. He was one of more than 1,200 killed.

Spiteri, who had married a woman named Carmela, has no known grave and is commemorated by the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
