Rifleman George Battista Canetta was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.

He was born in 1885, in Chelsea, the son of Italian waiter Egidio, of Milan, and Emily Canetta (née Payton). of London.

Canetta died on 9 September 1916, during the Somme Offensive, while serving with the 1/16th (County of London) Battalion (Queen's Westminster Rifles), The London Regiment on the Western Front.

He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Thiepval Memorial.
