Private George Henry Joseph Oberhoffer was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in 1885, in York, the son of German-born parents Robert Werner, a teacher of music by profession, and Maria Elizabeth Oberhoffer, of Treves and Hildesheim, respectively.
Oberhoffer died on 18 February 1916, of wounds received on the Western Front, while serving with the 18th (Service) Battalion (1st Public Schools), The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment).
He is buried in Bethune Town Cemetery.
