Private Harry Marcus was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the Second World War.
He was born in 1918, in Leeds, the son of Hyman and Leah Marcus (née Shon), of Russia.
Aged 24, Marcus died on 9 September 1943, on the day the 2/4th Battalion, The King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry landed at Salerno as part of Operation Avalanche. He had married in 1942, to Sadie Casper.
He is buried in Salerno War Cemetery.
