Private Henry Codiferro was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in Deal, Kent, the son of Swiss parents Peter (Pietro) Antonio,a confectioner and pastry cook, and Maria Codiferro. At the time of the 1911 census, the younger Codiferro was apprenticing as a photographer while residing with his family at 4 High Street.
Aged 20, Codiferro died on 16 August 1916, during the Somme Offensive, while serving with the 1/8th Battalion, The Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment) on the Western Front..
He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Thiepval Memorial.
