Private Jack Barnes, born Jacob Schriber, was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.

He was born in 1895, in Mile End, the son of Russian-born parents Abraham, a tailor by trade, and Mary Schriber. At the time of the 1911 Census, the Schriber family were residing at 107 Moreton Street, Manchester.

As Barnes, he died on 27 July 1917, aged 22, while serving on the Western Front with the 15th (Service) Battalion (1st London Welsh), The Royal Welsh Fusiliers.

He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Menin Gate Memorial.
