Officer's Steward 1st Class John Cauchi was a Maltese sailor of the Royal Navy who was killed during the First World War.

He was born on 7 April 1874, at Valetta, the son of Carmela Cauchi, and entered the navy in 1894.[1] His extended employment with the navy earned him the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, for 15 years of service, and the Messina Medal, granted to sailors in recognition of relief efforts undertaken in the aftermath of the 1908 earthquake and tsunami.

Cauchi died on 31 May 1916, during the Battle of Jutland, when the armoured cruiser HMS Black Prince was sunk with the loss of all hands.

He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
