Corporal Joseph Oswald Pontz was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the Second World War.

He was born in 1913, in Westhampnett, the son of Italian-born Alfred, in 1911 a labourer for Bognor council, and Alice Pontz (née Jays), of Bognor.

Pontz died on 3 August 1944, during the Battle of Normandy, while serving with the 5th Battalion, The Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry.

He is buried in St. Charles de Percy War Cemetery.
