Private Joseph Harry Ribeiro was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born 1895, in Mile End, the youngest son of Dutch-born Elias Nunes, a pickler by trade, and Betsy Brandon Ribeiro (née Bravo), of London. At the time of the 1911 census, the younger Ribeiro was working as an errand boy while living with his family at 50 Queen's Road, Plaistow.
Ribeiro died on 18 July 1917, on the Western Front, while serving with the 1/4th Battalion, The King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment). An older brother, Michael, a lance corporal in the 4th Australian Infantry, died in April 1918.
He is buried in Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery.
