Private Luigi Gianella was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in 1880, in Bridlington, the son of Swiss waiter Lugii and Annie Elizabeth Gianella (née Bishop), local to the area. At the time of the 1911 census, Gianella was working as a picture salesman and boarding at 21 Fairfax Road, Hornsey. He married Helen Amy Harding in 1915.
Gianella died on 16 May 1917, on the Western Front, while serving with the 8th (Service) Battalion, The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment).
He is buried in Railway Dugouts Burial Ground, Belgium.
