Private Mendal Shimberg was an English soldier of the British Army who died days after the end of the First World War.

He was born in 1898, in Prestwich, the son of Polish-born parents David, a machiner in 1911, and Milly Shimberg. At the time of the 1911 Census, the Shimberg family were residing at 50 Robert Street, Cheetham.

Shimberg died three days after the Armistice on 15 November 1918, in France, while serving with the 8th (Service) Battalion, The King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment).

He is buried in Solesmes British Cemetery.
