Band Corporal Nicolo Fondacaro was an Italian sailor of the Royal Navy who died during the First World War.

He was born on 23 November 1871, in Caltagirone, Sicily, and entered the navy in 1891. [1]

Fondacaro died on 31 May 1916, during the Battle of Jutland, when HMS Defence was sunk with all hands after the cruiser's magazines exploded.

He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
