Ordinary Seaman Raymond Martin Bowes was an Irish sailor of the Royal Navy who died during the Second World War.

He was born the son of William and Christina Bowes, of Waterford

Aged 18, he died on 13 December 1939, of wounds sustained during the Battle of the River Plate while aboard the heavy cruiser HMS Exeter.

Bowes, buried at sea, has no known grave and is commemorated by the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
