Captain Richard Howard Le Bas was an Anglo-Argentine officer of the British Army who died during the Second World War.

He was born in Argentina, the son of merchant Richard Wilson Olavarria and Florence Anne Marrs Le Bas, of Rosario and Quilmes, respectively.[1]

Le Bas died on 2 November 1942, during the Western Desert Campaign, while serving with the 3rd The King's Own Hussars, an armoured cavalry regiment allocated to the 7th Armoured Brigade of the 7th Armoured Division ("The Desert Rats"). The 3rd Hussars suffered heavy losses during the Second Battle of El Alamein.

He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Alamein Memorial, Egypt.
