Petty Officer Steward Salvatore Zarb was a Maltese sailor of the Royal Navy who died during the Second World War.
He was born in Malta, the son of John and Mary Zarb
Aged 35, Zarb died on 8 June 1940 when the aircraft carrier HMS Glroious sank in the North Sea, with the loss of more than 1,200 crew, after a battle with the German warships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau.
Zarb has no known grave and is commemorated by the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
