Private Sidney Charles Pettersen was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in 1896, at St James, the son of Norwegian-born piano maker Neils (or Niels) Charles and Helena Pettersen, of London. At the time of the 1911 census, the younger Pettersen was working as a printer while living with his family at 109 Whitfield Street, Tottenham Court Road.
Aged 22, Pettersen died on 16 March 1918, of wounds received on the Western Front, while serving with the 1/4th (City of London) Battalion (Royal Fusiliers), The London Regiment.
He is buried in Maroeuil British Cemetery, France.
