Rifleman Sydney Alfred John Grossi was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in 1896, at the Strand, the son of Italian-born wine traveller Charles (Carlo) and Rina Grossi (née Digby), of London.
Grossi died on 1 September 1916, during the Somme Offensive, while serving on the Western Front with the 12th (Service) Battalion, The Prince Consort's Own (Rifle Brigade). He had enlisted in September 1914 and arrived in France in July 1915.
He is buried in Delville Wood Cemetery, Longueval.
