Lance Corporal Emil Thomas Meinig was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.

He was born c. 1896, in West Derby, the son of German-born hairdresser Max Emil and Beatrice Emma (née Cheers),

Meinig died on 30 July 1916, during the Somme Offensive, while serving with the 20th (Service) Battalion (4th City), The King's (Liverpool Regiment). His battalion, one of four known informally as the Liverpool Pals, had, with its brigade, been tasked with attacking the village of Guillemont. In doing so, the 20th suffered heavy casualties, amounting to 16 officers and 357 other ranks killed, wounded, and missing.[1]

He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Thiepval Memorial.
