Private Walter Rudolph Brabenetz was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in 1893, at Wandsworth, the son of Hungarian-born hat planker Rudolph and Rosina Brabenetz (née Wright), of Shimpling, Suffolk. At the time of the 1911 census, Brabenetz was apprenticing in his father's profession while living with his family at 12 St Matthews Road, Edgeley.
Aged 21, Brabenetz died on 18 August 1915, during the Gallipoli Campaign, while serving with the 8th (Service) Battalion, The Cheshire Regiment. His younger brother, Victor, died on 5 November 1918, on the Western Front, while a private with the Machine Gun Corps.
He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Helles Memorial.
