Private William Andreoli was a Scottish soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War.
He was born in 1883, in Edinburgh, the son of Italian-born John, a looking glass silverer by profession, and Barbara Andreoli (née Adams), of Maxwelltown. At the time of the 1901 census, the younger Andreoli was working as a house painter while living with his family at 211 Canongate.
Andreoli died on 31 July 1916, during the Somme Offensive, while serving with the 11th (Service) Battalion, The Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment) on the Western Front.
He has no known grave and is commemorated by the Thiepval Memorial.
